SAC is a nonprofit
organization, founded in
Greenville, MS and
expanded to Jackson, MS
by Alonzo P. Dukes,
President/CEO in 1992.
SAC’s mission is to aid
participants/clients with
prevention and advocacy
support. We also
function as a resource
center for HIV/AIDS
information and provide
direct services in terms
of moral and financial
support.
SAC has five
core objectives:
- To
educate the Southeastern
Region about AIDS,
- To
provide materials and
training to the
community regarding
HIV/AIDS and other cofactors
of HIV
transmission,
- To
conduct structured HIV/
AIDS prevention
workshops in the
community,
- To assist
the community with
strategies to change or
modify community
norms/behaviors as they
relate to practicing safe
or safer sex behaviors,
and
- Emergency
assistance and referrals for housing, utilities, medicine, transportation,
and other services as well
as a Food Pantry and
Clothes Closet.
